About The Alhambra Centre, Barnsley

Located at the heart of Barnsley, the Alhambra Centre has easy access to the bus and railway station.

Shops include both small independent retailers and larger multi-national chains such as Next and Primark.  

Opening Time

Monday to Friday: 9.00am - 5.30pm

Saturday: 9.00am - 5.30pm

Sunday: 10.00am - 4.00pm

Travel and parking

By car: If you are travelling from the north along the the M1, take Junction 37 and travel along the A628. At the second roundabout take the first exit and follow signs to the shopping centre car park. If travelling from the south, you may prefer leaving the motorway earlier at Junction 36. From here follow the A61 for approximately 3.5 miles, at the Alhambra roundabout take the second exit and follow the signs to the car park.

Parking charge: £1.40 for two hours. Free on Sunday.

Additional Information

The main theatre in Bradford is also called The Alhambra, named after the world famous former mosque which became the palace of The Holy Roman Emperor Charles V in 1527. The palace can be found in Granada, Spain and is known for its amazing architecture and gardens.

The Alhambra Centre was also known as The Mall Barnsley, until it was sold by The Mall Fund in September 2011 to F&C REIT Asset Management.
